SWAT coaching clinic on Sunday, Sept. 28
All SWAT coaches are invited to participate in a coaching clinic with some of SWAT’s development providers. The clinic will:
- Help prepare coaches for the upcoming season with practical resources on running practices.
- Equip coaches with on-ice drills for both skaters and goalies.
- Show coaches how to deliver goalie-specific training within team practices.
Date: Sunday, Sept. 28
Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Terwillegar Recreation Centre Rink D (TCD)

Clinic format
- Dressing room chat and Q&A before taking the ice.
- Four on-ice stations focused on:
- Leadership (running stations, maintaining pace, ensuring player engagement)
- Skills drills focused on skating
- Skills drills focused on puck control and passing
- Goalie-specific drills that coaches can incorporate into practices
What to bring
- Helmet

Expected outcomes
- Coaches leave with at least three to five new drills to use immediately with both skaters and goalies.
- Targeted support for goalies.
- Coaches gain confidence in structuring practices effectively and including goalie-specific training.
