All SWAT coaches are invited to participate in a coaching clinic with some of SWAT’s development providers. The clinic will:

  • Help prepare coaches for the upcoming season with practical resources on running practices.
  • Equip coaches with on-ice drills for both skaters and goalies.
  • Show coaches how to deliver goalie-specific training within team practices.

Date: Sunday, Sept. 28
Time: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Terwillegar Recreation Centre Rink D (TCD)

Clinic format

  • Dressing room chat and Q&A before taking the ice.
  • Four on-ice stations focused on:
    • Leadership (running stations, maintaining pace, ensuring player engagement)
    • Skills drills focused on skating
    • Skills drills focused on puck control and passing
    • Goalie-specific drills that coaches can incorporate into practices

Expected outcomes

  • Coaches leave with at least three to five new drills to use immediately with both skaters and goalies.
  • Targeted support for goalies.
  • Coaches gain confidence in structuring practices effectively and including goalie-specific training.
