SWAT welcomes Coach Mentor, Chris Dingman
SWAT Hockey would like to welcome SWAT alumni, Chris Dingman, as our association’s Coach Mentor! Chris Dingman comes to SWAT with an incredibly rounded hockey career – both professionally as a player and off the ice as a coach.
Chris was a first-round pick in the 1994 NHL entry draft, and enjoyed an eight-year NHL career (1997 to 2006) that includes two Stanley Cup championships – the first with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001 followed by a second with the Tampa Bay Lighting in 2004. In addition to his career in the NHL he also played in the WHL and AHL as well as in Sweden and Denmark.
Off the ice, Chris has a decorated coaching career with more than 12 years of experience. In addition to coaching with SWAT, Chris spent three years coaching with the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX), serving as the Female U18 Prep Head Coach. He guided his sons through minor hockey, capturing a peewee state championship and lead the only undefeated team in Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida (SAHOF) history.
