Thank you, Hockey Alberta and the Hockey Alberta Foundation!

A HUGE thank you to Hockey Alberta and the Hockey Alberta Foundation (HAF) for selecting SWAT Hockey as a recipient of its Member Grant program!

The Member Grant helped subsidize and reduce the cost of numerous hockey development programs in our organization throughout the 2023-2024 season. More than 150 athletes* participated in the development programs and camps that were subsidized through the Member Grant.

“These development programs are an integral part of SWAT’s development program, and help athletes of all levels to develop their skills,” says Stephen Avivi, President of SWAT Hockey. “On behalf of SWAT Hockey, we sincerely thank Hockey Alberta and the Hockey Alberta Foundation for providing us with this Member Grant that has positively impacted so many young athletes in our organization.”

What we heard from our athletes and families

In February, SWAT reached out to the families that participated in the development programs to gather their feedback, and received several glowing reviews! We received 21 responses in total, and of those responses, 95 per cent of people ranked the programs as 5/5! Some of the highlights of what we heard include:

  • “Fast paced and well planned. My son has improved a lot. Highly recommended this program.”
  • “This was my son’s favorite practice of the week. The drills were challenging but the coaches still made them engaging. I feel he improved a lot but he didn’t even notice because the hard work was fun.”
  • “Coaches took time with the kids in order for them to have a fun, positive experience while developing their skills.”

*Please note these funds have already been distributed and were used to subsidize program costs; individual athletes did not receive grant funds.
